There may be a few supplies available for non-members with a suggested donation of $15 to $20, on a first-come, first-served basis, but these are not guaranteed. Non-members are encouraged to refer to the list below for sourcing their own materials:
Materials to keep handy:
- Type of Clay: Any type of air-dry clay. Preferred clays are self-hardening clay in Grey, White, or Terra Cotta. Look for brands like AMACO, Marblex, DAS, or Crayola.
- Quantity: A minimum of 5 lbs is recommended, which will be sufficient to make a statue of 6-8 inches.
- Stores or places to buy: Blick Art Materials, Hobby Lobby, Michaels, Joann, Walmart, or Amazon.
- Other materials: Toothpick, paintbrush (any size), a wooden plank to build the model on.
- Decorations: Visit your local art supply stores for acrylic paints, stones, beads, pipers, etc. Remember to paint only after your statue is completely dry. Feel free to use your creativity in decorating your statue.
